HarperCollins wanted to redesign their Avon Romance website with a focus on the authors themselves and the books. A couple of years ago HarperCollins was trying to re-imagine many of their online websites. This project was fully redesigned and IA’d and handed off to the internal coding team.
The design was bold and fluid and accommodated a lot of information, which was dictated by the HarperCollins team. The final design is beautiful and reflective of such a strong brand.
So what happened? Not certain. The existing website design is blah. Not interesting at all. It suffers from Web 2.0 itus.
